With our program we try to strengthen in them the sense of being European
citizen, solidarity as well as the commitment towards the actual problems
by the important formal and informal activities.
Participants from different countries express their feelings on the
everyday struggle of the discrimination, distinction and exclusion by the
mean of the films
The speciality of this event is that it is being realised in Makó and
Agyagfalva (Transylvania), that is a small village where only Hungarian
people are inhabited.
Our aim is to create a cultural dialogue by working and being together.
Shortly about the schedule and the programmes:
The travelling details: Arrival at Makó on 6th July.
In the morning of 9th July we travel together to Transylvania, where we
spend 4 days: Romania - Lutita (Agyagfalva, the name of the town in
Hungarian).
Then back to Makó on 14th July.
The closing ceremony will be on 16th in Makó.
The participants return home on 17th July.
“Zoom to Europe and Transylvania”, an International Meeting of Children
and
Youth Film Festivals and Video Workshops that is part of the European
Program – Youth in Action, will be held in Hungary and Romania, from 6 to
17 of July.
The participants of this program will live a unique experience because
they’ll have the opportunity to experience the authentic rural life of a
region located in central Europe. A life that has almost disappeared from
all developed countries.
Lutita (in Romanian) and Agyagfalva (in Hungarian) is and islet of a
different era, and is inhabited exclusively by people of the Hungarian
minority in Romania. You’ll stay there for 5 days, from 9 to 13 July.
A village with only 700 inhabitants, that is very vibrant and very
beautiful. Full of children who will ride their bikes and we’ll always
greet you with cordiality.
You’re going to meet hospitable and polite people. You’ll stay at their
homes and taste the local cuisine. All made with ingredients of their own
production: cheese, butter and milk from the cow, homemade jams, fruits
and vegetables from their small gardens. And of course, bread baked in the
oven of the house.
A beautiful landscape that will surely make your cameras work ceaselessly
and can inspire countless ideas for your films, lies around the village.
Furthermore, there you’ll start the shootings for your films. The
preparation of the films will begin in Mako, Hungary.
MAKO
You’ll arrive in Mako on Tuesday evening, July 6, after a two-hour trip
from Budapest Airport. You’ll stay at the brand new Pulitzer student
dormitory, in rooms that have all the comforts: bathroom, air conditioning,
refrigerator…
On July 7, we will have acquaintance of the youngsters participating in
the program, the presentation of the region of Transylvania through images
and videos and the preparation of the scripts.
You’ll be back in Mako on July 14 and the next day the integration process
of the films, will start. The closing ceremony will be held on Friday,
July 16th with the screening of all those films.
TRANSYLVANIA
On July 9, in the morning, the bus will departure for Transylvania. It's
probably the hardest part of the program and the trip would take more than
10 hours, although the distance is 550 km. This is because the road is
narrow and the bus can’t speed.
The truth is that the trip will reimburse you. After the first 80 km where
the road crosses the continuation of the endless Hungarian plain, the
ascent at the mountains of Transylvania begins.
Transylvania is well known around the world from the legend of Dracula and
has been transferred to the big screen several times. But if you're
waiting to see scary places, cliffs and dark alleys, you'll be
disappointed.
The area of Transylvania, which we’ll cross, is comprised by a succession
of plateaus that surround the lush friendly green mountains. In every
corner of the road, you can see new spectacular scenery. The variations of
the green are endless.
The picturesque villages and towns, which the highway passes through, are
endless. In many places you can obviously see the signs of poverty. Don’t
forget that Romania is one of the poorest countries of the European Union.
The organizers of the meeting, in order to make the long trip more
pleasant, have planned many short stops and a longest one (which will last
one hour) to visit a beautiful medieval castle.
LUTITA
In Lutita / Agyagfalva, all the activities will begin on Saturday, July
10. The main meeting point will be the Cultural Center of the village,
which is now renovated.
In the Elementary school, 50 meters from the Cultural Center, we’ll be
able to have and internet connection.
The days that we’re going to spent in the village will be full of
activities, as residents are preparing to entertain us with their local
customs and their music. But there also preparing surprises with local
music, food and fireworks, for the last day!
A day trip will take us into the interior of Transylvania, and another one
at an imaginary clearing of and adjacent forest. There we’ll have a
wonderful picnic, play football and walk in the forest.
You may wonder if there is nightlife in the village. We inform you that
three coffee bars here! And if you have a problem with the local tastes,
you can order pizzas that will arrive in a very short time, from the
nearby town! Of course there are two small supermarkets where you can get
anything you want.
And about your safety: the door houses are always open because there is no
way for a robbery to take place. The village provides medical care.
Don’t worry about missing the World Cup final… The organizers have been
taking care of that. On July 11, in the evening, they’ll set up a big
screen where all football fans, locals and quests can enjoy final.

Wass Albert:
Transylvania
There is a strange country somewhere
Its mountain is a church, its valley is a sanctuary
It is a sorrowful country
Its name is Transylvania
The nighs there are more blue
The fields are more yellow
And the leaves are falling constantly
When it is night.
For the bell ringing of silent villages
Organs of praying forest
The sound of a creek can be heard
There is constant autumn there.
The sole soul of Transylvania:
I wispear you that the spring comes in vain
The snowdrop
The old snowdrop ceased to grow.
Because there the forest is for transom
And the name of the mountain is Golgota
And the one living there
Is a deadly lover of an old summer
Accompanied by damned dreams
If he has comatose from the landscape
Because that country is damned
Very foggy and very lonely…
Even this way
It is very precious
For its pour children.
